Koda · AI Atlas · Optional free exploration · Version 4 · 19 September 2026
Make a prediction. Inspect the mechanism.
Optional museum experiments, separate from the core trust quest and E0–E7. Seven additional labs have their own station sheets and worked answers.
Choose Free exploration at entry. If the trust quest is active, pause it before using Rooms & map to choose Turing or Shakey. The compact quest entry resumes that saved journey. These extensions add time; they are outside the proposed 25-minute core and its existing learner protocol.
Turing · Change the tape
- Edit Initial tape using exactly three binary digits. Predict the final decimal value (0–8) after adding one and the instruction count (1–3). Commit my prediction saves the first response before execution.
- Use Step to inspect one read/write/move, or Run and Pause. Read the execution trace and compare the changed tape with your prediction.
- If wrong, use Revise this prediction; the original remains in history. Explain the stopping rule and cite its trace row. Check it, then choose Try a different input.
Overflow: 111 represents 7. Adding one needs 1000 (8), which does not fit three cells. The exhibit shows 000 plus a carry outside the left edge and stops safely. It must not be read as zero.
Shakey · Check each move
- Inspect the current map, choose a guided route or build up to 12 instructions, predict its outcome, and enter a reason naming a square or part of the route. Commit my prediction saves it before the route moves.
- Use Step one instruction or Run route / Pause route. The robot and trace show the same square in Flat and 3D. A blocked instruction stops before the occupied square.
- Revise a blocked route. After reaching the goal, try the changed map and predict again from its obstacles. Compare first responses and revisions in Planning history.
This is a fixed-map teaching reconstruction: it does not sense an unfamiliar real room. Guided routes and an optional instruction builder use the same bounded map.
Access, interruption and records
Flat and native keyboard controls offer the same decisions. Use Tab, arrow keys in radio groups, and Enter or Space on buttons. A scribe may enter the learner’s exact words; no audio is captured. On reload, execution resumes paused at its saved instruction boundary.
Turing reset: “Reset tape · keep record” returns to 011 while retaining attempts, prior challenge success and earlier walkthrough credit. Shakey: revise within the challenge; it has no destructive reset control. Older walkthrough credit remains separate from the new challenge.
Ordinary museum experiments use browser-local records, separate from numbered quest journals. Another visitor using the same browser can see them. Do not clear storage to start a test; use a separate browser profile and keep individual paper notes. Before switching devices, retain any needed evidence yourself; no account sync is supplied.
