Two voice assistants, two opposite bets

Google routed Gemini 3.8 Live straight into Search Live on day one, while Apple shipped the new Siri with iOS 27 and immediately capped how hard users can lean on it.

Google Ships Gemini 3.8 Live Voice Models

Google announced Gemini 3.8 Live and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking on Sept. 15, two weeks after Gemini 3.8 Flash, positioning them as its strongest conversational models to date. The base model is tuned for scale and cost efficiency in real-time voice interaction with visual grounding, while the Extended...

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi jointly demanded freedom of navigation through the Bab el-Mandeb strait, as Riyadh signaled it would respond forcefully to attacks pushing the Houthi and Iran-linked conflict closer to Saudi territory.

Markets

Futures now price a 92%1 chance of a Fed hike and a 97%2 chance of a Bank of Japan hike as the Gulf and Red Sea oil shock feeds inflation expectations, with US 10-year yields above 5%3 and equities extending their selloff.

Wild Card

Inference capacity is the quiet constraint across today's AI slate: Apple caps usage of the new iOS 27 Siri, Google tunes its base Live model for cost efficiency, and Axelera arrives with Dell and Supermicro validated inference hardware pitched against NVIDIA.

Red Sea Shock Hits Rates

Saudi Arabia signaled forceful retaliation and Egypt joined the call for secure navigation through the Bab el-Mandeb strait, with Suez Canal revenue giving Cairo a direct stake. The resulting oil shock has traders pricing a 92%1 probability of a Fed hike and 97%2 for the Bank of Japan, with 10-year Treasury yields above 5%3. A planned $2.8 billion4 US munitions sale to Israel, reportedly including tens of thousands of 2,0005-pound bombs, adds another layer to a region already driving global market moves.

Design Free tier; Pro pricing not published about 10 minutes for a first clip

VidFlux

One upload, a pick from Veo 3, Sora 2, Kling, Runway or Wan 2.5, and a clip comes back; the interesting question is whether that menu is worth paying for when the price is hidden behind a contact form.

The model menu is the whole product: VidFlux does not generate video itself, it routes your photo and prompt to whichever of Veo 3, Sora 2, Kling, Runway or Wan 2.5 you select, which is genuinely handy for side-by-side testing and genuinely thin as a moat. Adoption cost is low (web signup, a free tier with limited runs) but the Pro price is unpublished and there is no public user feedback to lean on. Treat it as a comparison bench for a single strong image, not as a pipeline dependency, until the pricing and the output on your own material earn it a bigger role.

NeuralAgent 3.0 operates your whole computer from plain English; give it a file task before an inbox task

NeuralAgent 3.0 on Product Hunt claims to execute UI actions on your machine in roughly 285 milliseconds, driving apps and managing files from typed instructions. Start with a bounded, reversible job such as sorting a downloads folder or renaming a batch of files, and watch the actions it takes before letting it near email or payments. There is a free trial, with pay-as-you-go access for the full feature set.

Twos folds notes, tasks, reminders, events, and lists into one capture point; test it as a replacement, not an addition

Twos is a free iOS app rated 4.9 by 117 Product Hunt reviewers who describe it as a single place to capture and organize daily life instead of juggling separate notes, to-do, and reminder apps. The only fair trial is to retire one existing app for a week and route everything through Twos; if you keep both, you have added a tool rather than removed friction. Judge it on how quickly you can dump a thought and find it again later.

iubenda generates privacy policies, cookie banners, and terms for sites and apps; treat the output as a draft for counsel

iubenda, which resurfaced on Product Hunt six days ago with a GDPR-focused listing, drafts privacy and cookie policies, sets up consent banners, and writes terms and conditions for websites and mobile apps. It is a fast way to get from zero to a compliant-looking baseline, but the generated text still has to match what your product actually collects and shares. Feed it an honest inventory of your third-party services first, then have someone accountable read the result before it goes live.

Digital First AI drafts and executes marketing plans in seconds; supply the constraints or you get a template

Digital First AI, indexed on FutureTools, positions itself as a marketing automation platform that generates and runs marketing plans from a short brief. Speed is only useful if the plan reflects your real budget, channels, and audience, so paste in your actual numbers and your list of channels you refuse to use before you accept a single suggestion. Measure it on one campaign against a plan a human wrote, and keep the human plan as the control.

StepAudio 3 Realtime Technical Report

Bin Lin, Bo Zhao, Boyang Zhang et al. · arXiv 2026-09-12

Realtime spoken interaction demands deep reasoning, prompt responses, and fluid turn-taking. We present StepAudio 3 Realtime, an audio-language foundation model organized around a continuous listen-converse-think-act loop.

The ASR scoring protocol is specified alongside the ASR results in Section 4.1.2; the paragraphs below cover the non-ASR domains. Audio understanding.. We retain each benchmark’s reported accuracy or normalized evaluation score.

THE DOJO · BUILD TODAY

Test the voice stack before you commit a roadmap to it

  1. 01

Benchmark both assistants on the same ten prompts. Run identical multi-turn voice tasks through Search Live on Gemini 3.8 and the new iOS 27 Siri, and log where Apple's caps cut you off. That gap is your real product constraint, not the launch copy.

  2. 02

Give NeuralAgent 3.0 a file task first. NeuralAgent 3.0 claims it can operate your whole computer from plain English, so start with a contained file rename or folder sort before you ever point it at an inbox. Watch what it touches that you did not ask for.

  3. 03

Separate the draft from the legal. Use iubenda to generate a privacy policy, cookie banner and terms for your app, then hand the output to counsel as a first draft. Same discipline applies to Koa style reasoning output in CRM workflows: the model drafts, a human signs.

The Bottom Line

Shipping wide beats shipping careful

Google put its strongest conversational model in front of Search users the day it launched, and Apple put its new Siri behind a usage ceiling. Both are inference economics decisions, and only one of them buys distribution and feedback at scale. Meanwhile Koa and Axelera's Europa show the cost side moving too, with purpose-built reasoning models and new accelerator silicon aimed at making this kind of always-on inference affordable. If you are building on voice this quarter, assume capacity is the product constraint and design for graceful degradation rather than unlimited access.

A figure is money, a percentage, a spelled magnitude, a multiple, a rate carrying its unit, a score over its denominator, a thousands separated number or an index close. Bare integers and years are not counted, so a phrase like "over 100 integrations" carries no mark. A chart's own scale line is the axis of the level above it and is counted once, with that level.
