It is the first Gemini 4-generation model and ships with up to 1 million1 output tokens through the Gemini app, Search AI Mode, AI Studio and the Gemini API. Google reports 77.9%2 on DeepSWE v1.1 and 51.3%3 on AutomationBench; Meta claims 79.0 for Muse Wonder Full on DeepSWE 1.1.

Why it mattersDevelopers can try Gemini 4 Argon now in AI Studio and the Gemini API, but should test it against Meta's Muse Wonder Full on their own code, since each company reports its own DeepSWE v1.1 score.

Apple's $299 HomeView Display

At its 'Welcome Home' event in New York, Apple unveiled the $299, 7-inch HomeView smart display with FaceTime and smart-home controls, in tabletop and wall-mounted models arriving Nov. 13. Apple also introduced a refreshed Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip, hands-free Siri AI and a Find My remote, putting its AI assistant at the center of the living room.

OpenAI Cites Halted GPT-6.1 Astra

OpenAI presented its halted GPT-6.1 Astra release to MPs as proof that it is not lowering safety standards in the race to deploy AI agents. The disclosure lands while OpenAI is under commercial pressure: its revenue reportedly fell $20 billion short of projections.

Red Hat AI Enterprise

The New Stack calls Red Hat AI Enterprise the company's first out-and-out AI platform, and the pitch is simple: model serving becomes another job for the team already patching your Linux and OpenShift fleet.

Red Hat AI Enterprise puts AI models under the governance and on-call team that already run your RHEL and OpenShift estate, which makes it compelling inside a Red Hat shop and hard to justify outside one. Organizations standardized on Red Hat should trial it before signing with any separate AI hosting vendor. Everyone else would be paying a quote-only price to learn a stack that G2 reviewers describe as steep going.

Flixier: edit AI video in the browser from upload to publish

Flixier is a browser-based video editor that takes footage from upload to a finished, published video without leaving the tab, and it can also generate AI video. Its built-in assistant, Eva, handles AI-assisted edits, so marketing teams can rough-cut a clip, ask Eva to tighten it, and publish directly. Product Hunt lists it as free with a 4.4 rating from 75 reviews, so test it on a short social clip before moving longer projects over.

Listing Trailer: turn property photos into cinematic video tours

Listing Trailer converts a set of real estate listing photos into a cinematic video with automated editing, which replaces the usual videographer visit for routine listings. Upload the photo set from a current listing, generate a trailer, and compare its engagement against a photo-only post on the same channel. There is a free trial, and paid plans start at $609/month, so agents posting several listings a month can judge the cost against one shoot.

Spiral: automate repetitive writing and thinking tasks

Spiral is built for the writing jobs you repeat every week, such as turning meeting notes into an update, rewriting a draft for a new audience, or reformatting a brief. The vendor claims it can speed these tasks up by as much as 80%10. Pick one recurring task, time how long it takes by hand, then run the same task through Spiral and measure the difference yourself.

Bitcut: generate images and video from one workspace

Bitcut's directory listing offers image generation, video generation, and a task view in a single interface. That suits creators who currently move between separate image and video apps for one campaign. Generate a hero image and a short matching clip from the same prompt, then check whether the two outputs stay visually consistent before you rely on it for a full asset set.

ReSI: Recursive Safety Improvement toward Resistant and Resilient AI

Jingnan Zheng, Dongcheng Zhang, Yi Zhang et al. · arXiv 2026-10-08

Recursive self-improvement, the participation of AI systems in improving their own capabilities, is beginning to move from theoretical prospect to practice, posing both challenges and opportunities for safety alignment.

For BC⁡(Mtρ)<BC⁡(M0)−ϵ(M{t}^{})<(M{0})-, construct A3-style benign counterparts to harmful examples, preserving their attack patterns while replacing harmful content with benign requests.

Trim your agent bill and pressure-test your stack.

  1. 01

Put a small router in front of one agent. Pick a pipeline that calls a large model at every step and test an NVIDIA Switchyard-style router on the easy decisions. Compare accuracy and cost against your current setup before widening it.

  2. 02

Bring a real task to the Copilot workshop. Block Oct. 21 for Shane Young's live session and arrive with one recurring task from your week. Time it by hand first so you can measure what Copilot changes.

  3. 03

Map what Red Hat AI Enterprise would inherit. If you already run RHEL and OpenShift, list the governance and on-call duties it would fold into your existing team. If you do not, price the new operational burden before you shortlist it.

The Bottom Line

Spend the big model only where the hard steps are.

A model that can emit up to 1 million1 output tokens makes every unnecessary call more expensive, which is where small routers like NVIDIA's Switchyard earn their place in front of it. Meta's Muse Wonder plans at $205 to $1006 monthly and Google's Pro and Ultra tiers also put a price on each heavy workflow. Start with one pipeline, send the routine steps to a small model, and reserve the frontier model for the steps that need it.

A figure is money, a percentage, a spelled magnitude, a multiple, a rate carrying its unit, a score over its denominator, a thousands separated number or an index close. Bare integers and years are not counted, so a phrase like "over 100 integrations" carries no mark. A chart's own scale line is the axis of the level above it and is counted once, with that level.
