1%1 of Firms Drive Spending

Ramp's October AI Index finds that 1%1 of firms in its data drive 80%2 of spending on OpenAI and Anthropic. Those heavy users' September spending per employee fell 3.1% below July's peak even as token volumes rose. Ramp attributes the drop mainly to falling model prices.

Gemini 4 Argon Often Overkill

A featured guide argues that Google's Gemini 4 Argon, built for long, multi-step work, is overkill for most daily tasks. It lays out a decision process for when to use Argon and when Flash or Flash-Lite is the smarter call. It also offers a method to test the difference directly.

Cammarata: Networks Easier to Interpret

Goodfire interpretability researcher Nick Cammarata argues neural networks are easier to interpret than the field assumed. A 65-minute essay contends that polysemanticity in early model organisms came mostly from recursive generalization, which it distinguishes from arbitrary superposition. If so, networks can be studied directly without first being untangled.

Usermaven

Usermaven's homepage demo shows Maven AI reading CRM deals and naming the sources behind closed-won revenue in 12 seconds, and that one screen is the whole pitch.

Usermaven stitches ad clicks, product events and CRM deals into one multi-touch report, then lets you question it in plain English through Maven AI or an assistant connected over MCP. Small B2B SaaS teams and agencies get attribution they can read without an analyst on staff. Buyers who need account-based marketing depth or heavy customization will outgrow it. Book the demo if your revenue already sits in a CRM or billing tool it connects to.

Reflection Beam: an open-weight model for long-horizon coding agents

Reflection Beam is an open-weight model built for agentic coding and repository-scale software tasks, and it can be deployed through AWS infrastructure. Teams that need self-hosted development agents should run it against one internal repo with a defined multi-step task, then compare completion rates with their current hosted model.

Claude Managed Agents: orchestrate up to 1,00011 agents in parallel

Anthropic added dynamic workflows to Claude Managed Agents that can coordinate as many as 1,00011 agents in parallel and keep multi-agent processes running in the background. Test it on work that splits cleanly, such as researching a list of companies or running independent coding tasks, and start with a small fan-out so you can check cost and output quality before scaling.

Rethinking the Role of Tool Graph Memory in Multi-Turn Tool Use

Uiji Hwang, Richeng Xuan, Taeuk Kim · arXiv 2026-10-15

Large language model (LLM) agents solve complex tasks by calling external tools over multiple turns. Recent work has proposed tool graph memory, which stores past experience as tool transitions to guide subsequent selection.

In summary, these results support insight memory as a practical alternative to tool graph memory for multi-turn tool use. It distills situation-level guidance from the same experience and outperforms tool graph memory in most of our settings.

Test local generation and tighten your attribution

  1. 01

Price your image workload. Take your monthly image volume and multiply it by the $0.009 API rate. If heavy users dominate the total, trial Klein on an 8 GB card.

  2. 02

Connect Usermaven to your CRM. Link ad clicks and product events to closed deals, then ask Maven AI which channel moved revenue last quarter.

  3. 03

Book the Copilot workshop. Block October 21 for Shane Young's live session and bring one real task from your week to test.

The Bottom Line

Policy risk is rising, so own your options.

China's proposal to restrict 40 more technologies, with interim registration already open since October 16, is a reminder to check which of your suppliers touch AI or other listed fields. A local-first setup, such as Klein on an 8 GB card, also cuts what you owe any single external API. Review your exposure this week and price one workload both ways.

A figure is money, a percentage, a spelled magnitude, a multiple, a rate carrying its unit, a score over its denominator, a thousands separated number or an index close. Bare integers and years are not counted, so a phrase like "over 100 integrations" carries no mark. A chart's own scale line is the axis of the level above it and is counted once, with that level.
