What we collect
One thing: your email address, when you choose to subscribe to the briefing. No names, no phone numbers, no reader profiles, no account system.
The site also saves a few preferences in your browser's localStorage: your theme, banners you have dismissed, and whether you already subscribed. These stay on your device. They are never sent to us.
Where it lives
Your email address is stored with Beehiiv, the platform that sends the daily briefing. Beehiiv processes it on our behalf, for the sole purpose of delivering email you asked for.
We never sell or rent the list. Not to sponsors, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
Analytics
A Google tag runs on the landing page only. It counts visits and subscriptions so we know whether the site works. Koda adds no tracking pixels of its own; embedded players are covered below.
Embedded content
Some pages load third-party content:
- YouTube embeds for the daily video. Embedded YouTube players set YouTube and Google cookies when you interact with them.
- Vercel hosts the site and the subscribe endpoint, and processes standard server logs (including IP addresses) to serve pages.
- Google Fonts for the site's typefaces.
- Supabase storage for audio and images.
Like any web request, those servers see your IP address when the content loads. We do not pass them anything else about you.
Your rights
Unsubscribe with one click in every email, or via the link in the footer. It takes effect immediately.
Delete your data by emailing hello@koda.community. We remove your address from the list, and it is gone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the effective date at the top. We will not quietly expand what we collect.
