Standard Harness Cuts Astra ARC-AGI-3 To 62.7%2

OpenAI's headline 99.9%1 ARC-AGI-3 result for GPT-6 Astra was measured under its own Provider Adapter harness; under the benchmark's standard harness the model scored 62.7%2, a 37-point gap. The other published figures, 97.6%3 on FrontierMath Tier 4 v2 and 100%4 on ExploitBench, were also reported under OpenAI's setup....

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were reported heading to Moscow and then Kyiv over the weekend to revive peace talks, as overnight Russian attacks killed at least three people in Ukraine on Friday.

Markets

Market mood reads Greed, with risk appetite holding even as Astra's headline benchmarks lose 37 points under independent measurement.

Wild Card

Google shipped Gemma 4 onto Hugging Face the same week the hub posted its intention to join forces with NVIDIA, meaning the third major open-weights drop of the week landed on infrastructure that may soon belong to a hardware company.

Today's Focus

What else the day turns on.

01

Agentic Speed, Gated Offense

OpenAI demonstrated Astra finishing a five-hour job search in 2 minutes 51 seconds and a 30-minute pet care search in 5 minutes 27 seconds, with Greg Brockman saying it 'can do anything a human can do with a computer.' At the same time, Astra's offensive cyber capabilities cleared OpenAI's Critical preparedness threshold and remain restricted to enterprise and Daybreak customers. The new Daybreak for Frontline Defenders program extends that gated track to organizations protecting critical infrastructure, splitting the model's reach by customer type.

02

Open Model Hub Meets NVIDIA

Hugging Face's homepage now states an intention to join forces with NVIDIA, with no deal terms, valuation or regulatory timeline disclosed. If completed, one of the largest open-model hubs would sit under NVIDIA's control just as Google's Gemma 4 lands there as the week's third major open-weights release. Parameter counts, licensing and benchmarks for Gemma 4 were not available in today's sources, leaving the ownership question as the more consequential open-weights story.

Every slide obeys a layout grid whether you like it or not, and that single constraint is the entire product.

The constraint is the pitch: Smart Slides refuse to let text drift or overflow, so a monthly review rebuilt from the same template looks the same in October as it did in September. That rigidity is exactly what the G2 critics complain about, and they are right that bespoke design is off the table. Adopt it for recurring, structured decks at $14.50 a month on the annual plan; skip it if the design is the deliverable.

Sidenote puts a comment layer on any webpage, so stop copying links into chat

Sidenote is a free browser extension that adds live chat and comments to any URL, with no separate account per site. Use it to annotate a competitor's pricing page, a vendor's docs, or a draft on a staging server, then share the page so teammates see the thread in place. Pilot it on one recurring review, such as weekly landing page critiques, before you fold it into your community stack.

choclift turns a spare iPhone or iPad into a Mac shortcut deck

choclift presents a customizable grid on iOS that switches between favorite and recent Mac apps, fires Apple Shortcuts, and inserts emoji without touching the Mac. The practical move is to bind three or four Shortcuts you already run daily (start a focus timer, open a project folder, trigger a screen recording) to tiles you can hit while your hands stay on the keyboard. Pricing is not listed in the directory entry, so check the site before assuming a one-time purchase.

Jason AI runs B2B outreach sequences and books the meeting, so define the handoff first

Jason AI is a conversational agent for B2B sales that automates the outreach sequence, replies to prospect responses, and books meetings into a calendar. Before switching it on, write down exactly which replies it may handle alone (scheduling, basic objections) and which must route to a human (pricing negotiation, security questions). Run it against a single segment for two weeks and compare reply and meeting rates with your manual sequence.

Vibeknow surfaced on There's An AI For That with almost no listing detail; treat that as data

Vibeknow appeared in today's directory scrape with a name and a page but no scraped description, pricing, or feature list. That thinness is itself a signal: either the product is very new or the listing was filed before the marketing copy existed. Open the directory entry, read the reviews and alternatives tabs, and check whether a real changelog exists before you spend time on the landing page.

THE DOJO · BUILD TODAY

Stop trusting vendor harnesses and start measuring your own tasks

  1. 01

Re-run every headline benchmark on the standard harness. Astra's ARC-AGI-3 score moved from 99.9% to 62.7% purely on harness choice, so treat the 97.6% FrontierMath Tier 4 v2 and 100% ExploitBench figures as unverified until you reproduce them yourself.

  2. 02

Time one real workflow, not a benchmark. Pick a task you already do manually - a sourcing pass, a research sweep - and clock the human baseline before you hand it to an agent, the way OpenAI clocked 30 minutes against 5 minutes 27 seconds.

  3. 03

Cut the copy-paste loop out of your review process. Try Sidenote to comment directly on any webpage, map a spare iPhone into a Mac shortcut deck with choclift, and let Beautiful.ai hold slide layout so you stop nudging text boxes.

The Bottom Line

When the harness moves the number by 37 points, the number is not the news

Every frontier lab shipped this week - Astra, Claude Fable 5.1, Gemini 3.8 Flash, Muse Spark 1.3, Gemma 4 and Tencent's HY4 Preview - and the marketing is converging on a single decimal place. The Astra gap shows how little that decimal means when the vendor also controls the measurement rig. Builders should benchmark on task completion time in their own stack, because that is the one figure a Provider Adapter cannot inflate. Meanwhile the open-weights lane is being reshaped by an NVIDIA notice with no terms attached, and that matters more to your dependency graph than any leaderboard.

A figure is money, a percentage, a spelled magnitude, a multiple, a rate carrying its unit, a score over its denominator, a thousands separated number or an index close. Bare integers and years are not counted, so a phrase like "over 100 integrations" carries no mark. A chart's own scale line is the axis of the level above it and is counted once, with that level.
